How do we set up the Draumr Double?

The suspension straps for Draumr hammocks have a loop at one end and a buckle at the other. Wrap the strap around the tree, thread the buckle end through the loop at the other end, and tighten. Then, thread the strap’s buckle through the compatible buckle on the hammock—it’s that simple.

  • Color coding on the hammock shows the setup direction: red on the left, green on the right, as viewed from inside the hammock.
  • The tip of the triangular buckle should point toward the tree.
  • Pull the remaining end of the strap to tighten, and pull the color-coded loop (red or green) to loosen.
  • For optimal setup, aim for a 25–30° angle from the hammock to the tree, slightly below the strap.

Take weight differences between you and your hammock partner into account.
The strap height should be adjusted according to weight. Simply put: if one of you is heavier, that side’s strap should be attached higher on the tree. This may mean the ridgeline isn’t perfectly straight, but the most important thing is that it’s tight. You might have to adjust a few times to find the perfect setup for you.

Note: Draumr Double places significant forces on suspension points—always hang your hammock on healthy, sturdy trees.
