30 meter dark green guyline

Product description

Skjold 13 is a large, lightweight tarp in dark green that blends in naturally in the forest. With about 13 m² of coverage, it gives you plenty of room – over Draumr Double, or with extra space around Draumr 5.0, Draumr Ultralight and Segl XL. Guylines with reflective threads, stakes and a spacious stuff sack are included – everything you need to pitch it over your hammock or a camp on the ground.

  • The lightweight fabric is very strong for its weight, and the slippery surface makes water and snow run straight off.
  • Skjold 13 is ready to be deployed between two trees or set up using your trekking poles or sticks.
  • The buckles on the guylines are easy to adjust and slip-resistant - no knots necessary.
  • Reflective guylines, adjusters and micro carabiners are pre-attached.
  • Keep your guylines tidy with our own silicone guyline holders – a simple, smart solution that makes packing easier. Six lightweight stakes are included, all with reflective pull cords, making them easier to spot in the dark.
  • Skjold 13 packs easy by stuffing it into the generous stuff sack. The tarp is perfect for Draumr Double, it will also give you plenty of room around the hammock used in combination with Draumr 5.0, Draumr UL or Segl XL.

Developed by Norwegian outdoor engineers.

Check out our dark green guyline (non-reflective) if you want to convert your Skjold 13 to stealth mode.

One tarp – four ways to pitch

Fits perfectly over Draumr, classic hammocks and tents – and works just as well as a simple shelter on its own.

Draumr mode

Short side between the trees, with the longer half over the foot end – covers your Draumr with room for gear and getting in and out underneath.

Classic hammock mode

Turn the tarp 90° so the long side runs between the trees – covers Segl XL and other gathered-end hammocks.

Freestanding

No trees needed. A trekking pole or stick at each end makes an A-frame shelter on its own.

With your tent

Pitch the tarp over the entrance of your tent and lift the front with a tarp pole. That gives you a roomy, dry living space outside.

Everything you need to set it up! The tarp comes with a suspension system, guylines, and tarp stakes. Seam sealer is also included if you need to seam seal your tarp.

The Skjold tarps come with all parts for easy plug and play. Guylines are attached to eight points on the tarp. Two of the guylines have small carabiners attached for Draumr setup. The stuff sack has a small pocket containing 6 stakes for securing the remaining guylines.

The tarp has reinforced corners for tarp-poles or a stick if that's your weapon of choice. This allows you to pitch the tarp in "porch-mode" which gives you a nice view of your surroundings while protected from the weather.

Move the carabiners around (or add more) for a different setup.

Watch our video demonstration on how to set up the tarp in Draumr mode and in Segl XL (gathered-end) mode.

Our Skjold 10 tarp and Skjold 13 tarp in dark green color are made from the same 15D Nylon DRS fabric as our discontinued Skjold 10 Ultralight tarp. We've been very happy with its strength, durability, and how well it handles sewing. Because of this, it will be the standard fabric for our tarps moving forward. As a bonus, it helps you cut a few grams from your pack weight and saves space in your backpack.

The short and easy answer is no. We currently don't have any other colors planned for the green Skjold tarps. It will be available in the dark green color, and we hope that those of you who really wanted camo to come back will see the new dark green tarps as a good alternative. With our new spare part, non-reflective Guyline, you can convert your tarp to stealth mode by replacing the grey guylines (with reflective thread), to our dark green guylines without reflective thread.

Take a look at this page comparing the Skjold 10 and Skjold 13 tarps to get a clear overview of their similarities and differences. It will help you make an informed choice based on your needs.

You don’t need to seam-seal your tarp for general use, but we recommend it if you expect heavy or sustained rain. The tarp is made from high-quality silicone-coated fabric, which is extremely waterproof. However, the seams - like with all silicone tarps - can still allow some water through.

That’s why we include a seam sealing kit. Applying it is a one-time process: just stretch out the tarp, apply the sealer along the seams, and let it dry for at least 24 hours. It's a bit of work, but it ensures your tarp is 100% waterproof.

Our manufacturing partners don’t pre-seal the seams because the process is time-consuming and requires a lot of space, sealing it yourself gives you maximum protection when conditions get rough.

Watch our instructional video on how to seam-seal your tarp for a step-by-step demonstration.
